Tottenham has expressed its support for 22-year-old Italian international defender, Destiny Udogie, and his family following an alleged gun threat made against him in London.
In connection with this incident, police apprehended a 31-year-old man in September. He has since been released on bail as investigations are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Tottenham stated on Tuesday, “We have been offering assistance to Destiny and his family since the occurrence and will continue to do so.
“Due to the legal nature of this matter, we are unable to provide further comments.”
Authorities were alerted late on the evening of September 6 regarding reports of a man in his 20s being threatened with a firearm in a north London neighborhood frequented by Tottenham and Arsenal players.
A spokesperson mentioned, “Officers engaged with the victim, and during their investigation, it was reported that another man in his 20s had also allegedly been blackmailed and threatened by the same individual.
“No injuries were reported in either case.
“A 31-year-old man was taken into custody on Monday, September 8, on suspicion of firearm possession with intent, blackmail, and driving without a valid license.”
